Alfeter Holiday

According to our religion in Saudi Arabia we have only two holidays Alfeter holiday and Aladha holiday. In this article I will taking about Alfeter holiday which some Muslims people name it “Small holiday”.

My country use Hejra calendar which depend the moon to figure out the beginning of a new month. Alfeter holiday starts in the first day until the third day in tenth month Every year. In the ninth month all Muslims people be fast during the day that’s mean all people can not eating, drinking and smoking from sunrise time until sunset time to make people who have money feeling about poor people. So all rich people give money and food to the poor people to make the poor people feeling happy in the holiday.
The first day of Alfeter holiday, all people dress new cloths and go to mosque to pray almost one hour. After that, the rich people give some money to them family and to the poor people. Then, some people eat a big breakfast with them family and some people make a big breakfast to eat it with neighbors and other families in the same area. In this day, people spend a nice time with them family until the night.

In the second and third day, most people visit them friends and them relative especially the oldest and invalid and spend a nice time with them.

Bad surprise

Eight years ago, I had an interview to be a student of computer collage. After the interview, an employee of admission department told me “ After two days, the names of students who matriculation will be in an newspaper.”. After two days, I bought the newspaper and I found my name, I was very happy and I called my father and my family to tell them that. In this day my father promise me to do big dinner at night and invite all my family. My family and I enjoyed at that night.
After that time span I went to the admission department to take my schedule. An employee surprised me when he told me,“ The collage did not accept you to study, I think the newspaper wrote your name incorrectly.”.
